Relief Printing with Reductive Layering Process

Friday nights in February, 2026

7 pm - 8:30 pm

In this workshop participants will use references to build up a tonally layered image. The selected image will be transferred onto linoleum with registration and 4 rounds of carving and printing from the same block to achieve a final image with shadows, mid-tones and highlights.

February 6th/Week one: Establish composition and areas to render in 4 tones. Begin carving and print first color.

13th/Week two: Carving for second color and print

20th/Week three: Carving for third color and print

27th/Week four: Carving and print for final darkest tone.

All Classes are held at Editions, located at 6520 5th Ave S #104 Seattle, WA 98108. The northern external door under the silo has a doorbell but there’s another doorbell for us next to the garage door- turn left once inside; studio is at the end of the hall under the stairs

Cancellation Policy

  • Withdrawals 15 or more days before the beginning of a workshop will receive a full refund of tuition and supply fee, minus a $25 processing charge.

  • Withdrawals 4-14 days prior to the workshop will receive a 50% refund of tuition and supply fee, minus a $25 processing charge.

  • No refunds are possible for withdrawals 3 or fewer days in advance of the first day of class, or for no-shows.

  • Exceptions to this policy are only made for documented medical emergencies.
