Coptic Binding with pocket

$225.00

Friday nights in January, 2026

7 pm - 8:30 pm

Friday nights in January we’ll be working through the double needle coptic binding for anyone who wants to learn the craft of a great beginner structure or for the seasoned binder to return to this timeless format. Coptic bindings are beloved for their ability to lay flat and display the beauty of their braid like stitches when closed. We’ll begin inside the first signatures, attaching the covers before continuing through the text block and bind off inside pockets to hide our stitches and offer a place to keep notes.

January 2nd/Week one : Cut down paper for the text block. Fold signatures and prepare covers.

9th/Week two : Pierce holes and create channels, begin sewing

16th/Week three: Sewing continues

23rd/Week four : Finish sewing, attach covers and bind off

30th : Pick up books or add finishing touches
