Relief Printing with Reductive Layering Process

In this workshop participants will take images and define the shadows, middle tone and highlights to print a single plate three times and make a small edition of an image with basic tonal shifts. We’ll go over the process of transferring images to linoleum plates and then carve. First to remove the highlights, print, then carve out the middle tones, print, and then remove those middle tones and print in black. Registration techniques will ensure the image lines up to achieve the correct result.
