Collaborate with us!

Every 2nd Monday

6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Do you thrive collaborating and ideating with other spirited artists? Do you want thought partners to think through how to support your artistic concept in book form? Do you feel lonely working by yourself all the time? Come to Book Arts Lab.

Book Arts Lab is a monthly jam session led by seasoned book artist, Sarah Maker. The group is limited to six people, and you will each get 30 minutes of the group’s focused attention working through your concept. We will talk about how your story can be augmented by structure, materials, scale, content, and housing. This is a great way to introduce new thought patterns into your work, get unstuck, and see things with new eyes.

Tools and Materials: Please bring any relevant works-in-progress, content, and/or materials you are considering to provide context for our collaboration.

Book Arts Lab is only as long as the number of participants. So if two people come, we will go for an hour. If six people come, we will go for three hours.

If you want further support executing the ideas generated, you may set up 1:1 time with Sarah Maker at the rate of $50/hour.

All classes are held at Editions, located at 6520 5th Ave S #104 Seattle, WA 98108. Go through the red door (or big white door if it’s open) and turn right past the blacksmiths.

If you have any questions about this class, please contact the coordinator sarah@editions.studio.
